Viatec’s ePTO Systems Spotlighted by Terex as a Way To Eliminate Range Anxiety
We were recently featured in an industry article on best practices for converting utility fleets to electric vehicles (EVs). Published on Terex’s Utility Pros blog, the piece provides guidance to utilities seeking to meet aggressive sustainability targets over the next decade.
We are highlighted for our innovative electric power take-off (ePTO) systems that eliminates idling by providing clean, electric power for upfits utilizing hydraulics for work on medium and heavy-duty chassis. Specifically, the article recommends the HyPower SmartPTO system we released with partner Terex Utilities.
As quoted by Terex’s Director of Marketing, Joe Caywood: “We developed a solution that provides the maximum chassis range while powering the aerial separately. The HyPower SmartPTO by Viatec offers 28 kWh to operate the boom for a full workday without drawing power from the chassis batteries.”
