Eliminating Idle, Noise, and Emissions: Viatec Featured on Work Truck’s Truck Chat at EUFMC
At the Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference (EUFMC), Viatec’s Vice President of Sales, Anjali Deodhar, spoke with Wayne Parham, Managing Editor of Work Truck, to demonstrate how Viatec’s ePTO technology is transforming job site operations. Watch the full interview below!
“Imagine driving in a peaceful neighborhood and suddenly hearing massive noise from a utility bucket truck running its engine just to work on transmission lines. Now imagine that exact same scenario—with zero noise at all.”— Anjali Deodhar, VP of Sales at Viatec (featured on Work Truck’s Truck Chat)
Rethinking Job Site Power: The WorkForce ePTO Advantage
Traditional power take-off (PTO) systems rely on continuous engine idling to operate hydraulic equipment—wasting fuel, increasing engine wear, causing heavy worksite noise, and polluting local communities. Viatec’s flagship product, the WorkForce ePTO, completely redefines this equation by powering auxiliary equipment through an onboard battery system with the main truck engine switched off.
During her interview with Work Truck’s Managing Editor Wayne Parham, Anjali Deodhar highlighted how versatile and scalable the WorkForce product line is across utility fleets:
- Full-Day Operational Capacity: Provides all the battery energy needed to power bucket lifts, booms, outriggers, strobe lights, and cab comfort (heating/AC) for an entire workday without turning on the vehicle engine.
- Broad Equipment Range: Configurable to suit a full range of bucket trucks and boom sizes—from under 30-foot booms up to massive 112-foot utility booms.
- Real-Time Operator Visibility: Features an intuitive, high-visibility LED light array mounted right on the unit. Operators on the ground or high up in the bucket can see the exact system status at a glance, including PTO state, hydraulic pump engagement, and remaining battery state of charge.

Introducing the WorkForce ePTO-S: Engineered for Service & Small Bucket Trucks
A major highlight of the EUFMC feature was the presentation of Viatec’s latest innovation: the WorkForce ePTO-S (where 'S' stands for Super, Service, and Small). Designed specifically for service trucks and units with booms under 40 feet (such as the Terex LT40 shown during the segment), the ePTO-S provides a lighter, more compact, and economical solution tailored for vehicles that spend significant time on the road.
- Complete All-in-One Power Package: Delivers full auxiliary power for daily boom operations while simultaneously tending the truck’s starter battery, running a 48V electric cab AC system for driver comfort, and supplying 120V electric power for onboard hand tools.
- Patented DriveMind™ Technology: Features Viatec’s proprietary DriveMind™ smart charging system. DriveMind intelligently recharges the ePTO battery pack directly from the vehicle engine while driving—only drawing surplus energy when available, so it never overburdens or steals power from the truck engine.
- Compact & Economical: Offers a smaller footprint and reduced weight without sacrificing performance, making it the ideal fit-for-purpose fitment for service fleets.
We are proud to be featured by Work Truck and to share our vision for cleaner, quieter, and more efficient job sites across the utility sector.
