Purpose-built as a low-profile electric Power Take-Off (ePTO) system, the PTO-S is specifically engineered to bring powerful, zero-emission hydraulic and accessory power to on-the-go work trucks—without compromising valuable chassis space.

As fleets look to implement effective solutions for managing growing fuel costs, eliminating costly engine idling, and improving worksite safety for their crews, flexible ePTO options are more essential than ever.

“Cool your cab while you fly your bucket.” The WorkForce™ PTO-S delivers the necessary hydraulic power, specifically calibrated to feel exactly like a traditional mechanical PTO, but with zero emissions and near-silent operation.

Understanding the Difference: PTO vs. PTO-S

Both systems deliver field-proven, bulletproof reliability and provide robust ROI by cutting fuel costs and slashing engine/DPF maintenance and increasing truck lifecycle. However, they address different vehicle duty-cycles and mission requirements:

• Vehicle Target & Design: The standard WorkForce™ PTO is designed for medium and heavy-duty upfits and large platforms. The new WorkForce™ PTO-S features a purpose-built, uniform low-profile configuration engineered specifically to tuck neatly away on light duty service and utility work trucks.
• Physical Dimensions: The PTO-S features a highly compact, uniform footprint—measuring exactly 18” Height x 18” Width x 36” Length and weighing a lean 350 lbs.
• Hydraulic Capability: The standard PTO is built for heavy hydraulic demands, pushing up to 21 GPM at up to 4000 PSI. The PTO-S optimizes performance for smaller truck mechanics, delivering a balanced output of up to 6 GPM at 3000 PSI.
• Smart Charging Dynamics: While the regular PTO relies on standard overnight Level 1 or Level 2 stationary charging, the PTO-S introduces our advanced DriveMind™ Smart Rolling Charge. This context-aware system safely recharges the unit on-the-go using the truck’s natural driving transitions without requiring alternator upgrades or complex wiring updates.

Advanced Cab Comfort and Accessory Integration

The WorkForce™ PTO-S does more than just power a vehicle’s upfit hydraulics, it fundamentally transforms the operator experience. When equipped with the optional eAC system via a dedicated 48VDC output, it provides up to 13,500 BTU/hr of pure cabin climate control, keeping operators perfectly comfortable without running the truck’s primary engine. Furthermore, the built-in inverter provides 3,000W of clean 120VAC export power to run tools, diagnostic equipment, and accessory lights directly from the job site. And it also saves money by not requiring the trucks to be pre-specified with an inverter!

Seamless Telematics & Lifecycle Support

Like all systems in the Viatec family, the new PTO-S comes completely integrated out of the box with the WorkForce CLOUD™ Dashboard. Fleet managers can remotely track real-time carbon emissions reductions, operator adoption rates, and equipment ROI. Should field troubleshooting ever be required, our over-the-air (OTA) software updates, remote diagnostics, and structured Viatec Self-Sufficiency Life Cycle support model guarantee minimal downtime and continuous field performance.
